Assessing the Quality of Life of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Lebanon in Light of the 2024 War:
A Field Study on Displaced Families in South Lebanon

تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى تقييم جودة الحياة لدى الأسر اللبنانية التي نزحت داخليًّا نتيجة حرب عام 2024 في جنوب لبنان، ودراسة الفروق في جودة الحياة تبعًا لعدد من المتغيرات الديموغرافية والاجتماعية.
تستخدم الدراسة المنهج الوصفي التحليلي، وتعتمد الاستبانة مقياس جودة الحياة المختصر لمنظمة الصحة العالمية (WHOQOL-BREF) على عينة مكوّنة من 300 نازح.
تظهر النتائج أن جودة الحياة جاءت عند مستوى متوسط، مع وجود فروق دالة إحصائيًّا تعزى إلى عدد أفراد الأسرة، ومدة النزوح، ونوع المأوى، والحالة الوظيفية، في حين كان تأثير المساعدات الخارجية وشدّة التعرض لأحداث الحرب محدودًا. كما تعكس النتائج الطابع الجماعي للصدمة المرتبطة بالحرب. وتؤكد الدراسة الحاجة إلى تدخلات شاملة ومستدامة لتحسين جودة حياة الأسر النازحة في لبنان.

- Abstract:
This research focused on the quality of life of Lebanese households who had to leave their homes as a result of the 2024 conflict in South Lebanon and also identified variations depending on certain demographic and social factors. Data on 300 displaced persons were collected using an elaborated questionnaire comprising the WHOQOL-BREF, and the data were analyzed using a descriptive analytical method. The results indicated a moderate level of quality of life, with significant differences related to the number of family members, duration of displacement, type of shelter, and employment status, while the impact of external assistance and the severity of exposure to war-related events was limited. The findings highlight the need for comprehensive and sustainable interventions to improve the quality of life of displaced families in Lebanon.
