- نبذة عن البحث :
يهدف البحث إلى دراسة العلاقة بين الإدمان على الإنترنت، والقلق العام والإكتئاب من جهة، ودراسة علاقته بمتغيرات معينة مثل الجنس، والكلية والاختصاص الدقيق، لدى طلاب الجامعة اللبنانية، من جهة أخرى. تتألف العينة من 504 طلاب لبنانيين في كليتي الآداب والعلوم (تحديدًا في الفروع الأولى من الجامعة اللبنانية)، في السنة الجامعية الثانية، وتتراوح أعمارهم بين 18 و20 سنة.
وقد توصلت النتائج إلى ارتفاع معدلات الإدمان على الإنترنت لدى طلاب كلية الآداب مقارنة مع طلاب كلية العلوم، كما أشارت النتائج إلى وجود ارتباط ذي دلالة إحصائية بين الإدمان على الإنترنت والقلق العام، وإلى وجود ارتباط ذي دلالة إحصائية بين الإدمان على الانترنت والاكتئاب. ودلت النتائج على وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية بين الذكور والإناث في الإدمان على الانترنت، لصالح الإناث. وسجلت أيضًا فروقًا دالة إحصائيًّا في إدمان الطلاب على الانترنت تبعًا لمتغير الاختصاص الدقيق في كلية العلوم فقط.

Internet Addiction and its correlation with Generalized Anxiety Disorder and Depression
- Abstract: The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between Internet Addiction,Generalized Anxiety Disorder and Depression among Lebanese University students in light of some variables such as gender, university faculty, and specific major.The sample consisted of 504 Lebanese university students (males and females)aged between18-20 years, who were registered in the Lebanese university (253 of them were registered in Faculty of Literature and Human Sciences & the other 251 students were registered in Faculty of Sciences). Results showed higher levels of internet addiction among students of Human Science Faculty, more than students of the Science Faculty. Resultsalso showed positive significant correlation between Internet Addiction and Anxiety & positive significant correlation between Internet Addiction and Depression. On the other hand, it showed significant statistical differences between males and females in internet addiction in such away that females were more addicted on internetthan males.Results also showed significant differences in internet addiction among students due to specific major only in the Faculty of Science.
