Yemeni Youth Reliance on Partisan Satellite Media as a Source of Information Regarding the Local Crisis

تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى معرفة مدى اعتماد الشباب اليمني على وسائل الإعلام الفضائيّة الحزبيّة مصدرًا للمعلومات تجاه الأزمة المحليّة – "قناة بلقيس" أنموذجًا، وتندرج ضمن البحوث الوصفيّة.
تستخدم الدراسة المنهج المسحي، إذ أُعتمد على الاستبيان كأداة لجمع البيانات عن العيّنة، وقد وزّعت إلكترونيًّا على 400 فرد من الشباب اليمني.
تلحظ الدراسة أن أغلب أفراد العيّنة يعتمدون، أولًا، على: مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي مصدرًا للمعلومات، يليها في المستوى الثاني: الفضائيات الموجهة، والفضائيات اليمنية من مختلف الاتجاهات. وتبين النتائج أن أغلب أفراد العيّنة، يفضّلون مشاهدة "قناة المسيرة" أولًا، تليها قناة بلقيس، من بين القنوات الحزبية. وتظهر النتائج أن كثافة مشاهدة النشرات الإخبارية التي تقدمها الفضائية الحزبية عن الأزمة اليمنية، كانت متوسطة، حيث جاءت بمتوسط 1.80 وتقدير لفظي "أحيانًا". ويفيد أغلب أفراد العيّنة، أن عدد الساعات التي يقضونها لمشاهدة الفضائيات الحزبية (قناة بلقيس) لا تزيد عن ساعة.

- Abstract: This study aimed to examine the extent to which Yemeni youth rely on Partisan Satellite Media, as a source of information regarding the local crisis. This study uses Belqees TV Channel as a case study. This study is descriptive research.
This study used the survey method and adopted a questionnaire as a tool to collect data from the sample. The questionnaire was electronically distributed to a sample of 400 Yemeni youth. The study has reached several findings, the most significant of which are that:
- The findings indicated that the majority of the sample rely primarily on the social media platforms as sources of information. Secondary, with the same rate, they rely on the targeted satellite channels and Yemeni satellite channels with different tendencies.
- The findings showed that the majority of the sample primary preferred watching Masirah channel, and secondly, they preferred Al Belqees channel among the partisan channels.
- The findings indicated that the viewership of newscasts provided by partisan satellite television channels concerning the Yemeni crisis was moderate, with an average viewership rating of 1.80 and occasional verbal assessments.
- The majority of the sample reported that they spend no more than one hour watching partisan satellite channels, such as Belqees satellite television.
