Artificial Intelligence as a Hybrid Social Agent: A Study of Cognitive and Human Transformations among Media Students at the Lebanese University

يهدف هذا البحث إلى تحليل تمثّلات طلاب كلية الإعلام في الجامعة اللبنانية (الفرع الأول)، للذكاء الاصطناعي بوصفه فاعلًا اجتماعيًّا هجينًا، وأثر ذلك في أنماطهم المعرفية، والاجتماعية، والقيمية. يعتمد البحث على المنهج الوصفي، وقد جُمعت البيانات باستخدام استبيان وُزّع وفق أسلوب المعاينة غير الاحتمالية القائمة على القصدية، حيث بلغ عدد المستجيبين (241) طالبًا من طلاب الكلية.
تُظهر نتائج البحث أن الذكاء الاصطناعيّ أحدث صدمة معرفيّة، لكن بتأثيرات متفاوتة، إذ يُدرك الذكاء الاصطناعيّ ليس كمجرد أداة تقنية داخل البيئة التعليميّة الجامعيّة، بل يتخطى ذلك إلى علاقة اجتماعيّة - معرفيّة تتشكّل داخل الحقل التعليميّ، وتحكمه توازنات بين مرجعيّات السلطة، وأنماط المشروعيّة المعرفيّة، وتموضعات الفاعلين؛ كما يكشف عن مسار انتقالي متدرّج في طريقة تفكير الطلاب، وتمثّلاتهم للمعرفة، وآليات اتخاذ القرار في المقابل. وقد لاحظ البحث أن أنماط استخدام هذه الأدوات تعكس تباين العادات المعرفيّ (الهابيتوس)، وإعادة إنتاج الرساميل داخل الحقل؛ فلم تُمنح التكنولوجيا سلطة مطلقة، بل تُخضع لاستراتيجيّات مساءلة، وضبط رمزيّ تحدّد حدود تأثيرها وسلطتها ولا سيما على المستويين العاطفي والاجتماعي.

- Abstract:
This research aimed to analyze the representations of students to artificial intelligence as a hybrid social actor, and its impact on their cognitive, social, and value patterns. The research relied on the descriptive method, and the data were collected using a questionnaire distributed according to the method of non-probability sampling based on intentionality. The number of respondents reached (241) students merely from the Branch one of the Faculty of Information at the Lebanese University.
The results of the research showed that artificial intelligence has caused cognitive shock but with varying effects. Also showed that artificial intelligence has been perceived not just as a technical tool within the university educational environment, but it has gone beyond that to a social-cognitive relationship that has been formed within the educational field and governed by balances among authorities, patterns of knowledge legitimacy, and the positions of actors. It has also revealed a gradual transition in the way students think, their representations of knowledge, and decision-making mechanisms in return. The patterns of use of these tools reflect the disparity of cognitive habitus and the reproduction of capital within the field; technology has not been given absolute power but is subject to strategies of accountability and symbolic control that define the limits of its influence and power, especially on the emotional and social levels.
